Blackboard is the University of Miami's Learning Mangement System
Some UOnline degree and certificate programs follow a different academic calendar than the standard University of Miami schedule. It's important to follow the correct calendar for your program to stay on track with deadlines and requirements. UOnline students in the Master of Engineering Management, the Master of Arts in International Administration, and the Master of Public Administration (admitted Fall 2025 and beyond) programs follow the traditional University of Miami calendar and are enrolled in 15-week classes. UOnline students in the following programs are enrolled in 7-week courses in a 15-week term with a 1-week break in the middle: EdD in Applied Learning Sciences; MS in Education in Sport Administration; MS in Data Analytics and Program Evaluation; MA in Live Entertainment Management; MA in Music Industry; MM in Media Scoring and Production; MA in Popular Music Pedagogy; Master of Public Administration (students admitted Spring 2025 and earlier); and certificates in Data Management and Statistical Analysis, Artist Development, Arts Leadership, Arts Management, Arts Presenting Fundamentals, Legal Aspects of the Music Business, Music Business Fundamentals, Music Entrepreneurship, Music Rights Administration and Licensing, and Tour and Live Entertainment Administration. Please click here to access University of Miami academic calendars.
UOnline courses are delivered via the learning management system (LMS) Blackboard. You can log into Blackboard through CaneLink or MyUM portals.
Many University of Miami forms—such as withdrawal, appeal and graduation—are dynamic web-based forms. If you're having trouble, it may be a browser compatibility issue or a login timeout. Try switching browsers or clearing your cache. If issues continue, the Student Technology Help Desk is available to assist you during business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For support outside of business hours, please contact the IT Service Desk at 305-284-6565 available 24/7.

UOnline students should contact the University of Miami's Office of Disability Services (ODS) to request academic accommodations. If you've identified yourself as a UOnline student and submitted current documentation, most decisions are made within 14 business days. To ensure your accommodations are in place before your course begins, submit your request as early as possible. Accommodations cannot be applied retroactively. Click here to learn more and submit your request.
UOnline does not offer scholarships; however, during the enrollment and admissions process, tuition reductions may be offered to new incoming students. Eligibility and amount may vary based on program, start date, and other qualifications—such as military, veteran, UM alumni, academic merit. These tuition reductions will show on your student bill as a GA Tuition Waiver.
You can pay your tuition through CaneLink using a credit card, e-check, or third-party payment. Payment must be made in full by the published deadline for each term. The Monthly Payment Plan (MPP), which allows you to divide your educational expenses into convenient monthly payments per semester, may be available for qualified students through The Office of Student Accounts. Follow this step-by-step guide to complete your MPP enrollment.
Refunds are typically processed on or about 14 days after the start of each semester; however, in certain circumstances, this time frame may be delayed. Specific refund dates align with calendar start dates. Refer to your academic calendar or CaneLink Student Account for estimated refund disbursement timelines and updates.
To keep using your VA educational benefits, you must complete the Benefits Recertification Form each term you wish to use your benefits. You can access the form here. Contact the VA Educational Hotline at 1-888-442-4551 if you have questions. Explore the UM Veterans Resource Guide for Students to learn more about the services available to you.
Log into CaneLink and navigate to your Student Account. From there, you can generate or download an itemized tuition bill to submit to your employer.
