Break into or Grow in the Field of Accounting

The UOnline accounting program offers four (4) options that can be tailored to your interests and aspirations. They include relevant and rigorous courses that prepare you for the CPA exam or for other accounting certifications, such as the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certifications. Students can take one of two paths:

For those with previous accounting experience, we recommend completing the Accounting Practice Certificate and either the Master of Professional Accounting with the CPA track or the Master of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting.

For those without previous accounting experience, we recommend completing the Accounting Practice Certificate and either the Master of Professional Accounting or the Master of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting.

Note: The CPA exam and licensure requirements vary by state. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that they meet all of the requirements in the state in which they are applying, including additional work experience, specific age and citizenship requirements, and additional coursework. While the standard Master of Professional Accounting consists of eight courses, two additional, optional courses are offered for students who require additional accounting coursework. To learn more about the CPA requirements, you can reference the following sites: The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA); This Way to CPAThe National Association of State Board Accountancy (NASBA).
